All Inclusive Wedding Band + DJ & Uplighting
We offer above and beyond that of a traditional Wedding Band. We provide an All-Inclusive entertainment package with a Band + Live DJ/Host, including a boutique-quality Sound & Lighting system to ensure the party goes non-stop, all-night long!
We'd LOVE to perform for your Wedding Reception or Private Party. This includes coverage from Cocktail Hour through an amazing Dance Party. We will custom tailor our performance to your style and create an evening that's totally "You".
moreYour Wedding & Our Stylistic Approach
We like to consider ourselves to be the band that's most in-tune with the modern Bride & Groom.
Being that we are all aged around our late 20's, we identify with current wedding styles & trends... with that, we won't be playing any of those corny, dated - cheeseball songs! During the band's sets, we begin with all the great Motown R&B Pop hits that will keep Mom, Dad, Aunt Edna, etc all on the dance floor and then transition throughout the evening into 90s & Current Pop artists like Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Spin Doctors, then finishing the evening with the 80s Classic Rock hits from Journey, Bon Jovi, to Van Halen. Our mission is to involve EVERYONE, age 5-75 into the party!
High-End Sound System with Intelligent-Programmed Stage Lighting
What good is a band without a quality sound and lighting system? Our package provides a crystal-clear sound system and fully programmed LED Lighting that not only makes the band sound great, but also lights up the room; Giving the desired "Wow!!" effect.

Wedding Planning Tips & Best Practices
Budget Planning
Planning your overall wedding budget and allocating those funds can understandably be stressful. Have no fear - We can certainly lend a hand with some insider tips!
When you ask what wedding guests most remember about a particular wedding, the most common response you'll find is - “How Great the Party Was!”. The two biggest ingredients that combine and cook-up a great party are : The Drinks & The Entertainment... So budgeting properly for those two items should be at the forefront of your planning.
Straight-up, there are many good quality "B" level wedding bands in the New England area that will quote around the $4500 - $5000 range for a peak-season Saturday wedding in the New England region. However, the truly top-tier "A" level bands that are guaranteed to make your party happen, should all quote in $6000+, some will even quote as high as $8500+.
Speaking further on this, one of the biggest items planned for a wedding is the "Food" and other decorative pieces. This is not to diminish the importance of a phenomenal meal – we’ve certainly had some amazing meals at weddings we’ve performed at. Although, consider the cost of your entertainment on a level playing field with the other major expenses. Take into account that most wedding plated-meals will cost $80, $90, or even over $100 per person. Then consider the cost of a great band around the ~$6000 mark, dividing by a wedding hosting ~150 people, equals to around $40 per person for the entertainment. That's a pretty big difference, less than HALF the cost in most cases.... clearly visible once the math is on the table!

Finding the RIGHT Entertainment for Your Wedding & What Questions You Should Ask
When speaking to a prospective Band or DJ, get a sense for their style and approach to weddings. Ask what type of genres they perform and does that line up with your favorite genres.
Perhaps most importantly, get a sense for your entertainer's personality and pride in their work!
When looking at diamonds, you have the “4 C’s”… in the Entertainment industry, we have the “3 P’s” : Performance – Professionalism – Production. There's a huge distinction between many bands that bring their "A-Games" to every performance, versus some of the other bottom-feeder groups.
Furthermore, top-quality entertainment does more than just perform songs. Band's and DJ's who will make your party successful will act as your host for the evening, keeping guest where they need to be according to the agenda, managing the energy level effectively, and ultimately ensuring that everyone is partying all night long.
Things to ask or look for...
**MC / Host** -- Does your entertainer understand your vision for the evening? What's his/her personality on the mic for introductions and for guiding the evening along? Have they spent time working with you and the event coordinator, planning the evening agenda?
**Sound System** -- Does your entertainer have scalable sound systems that cover small spaces as well as large venues? As you can imagine, a small boombox won't be enough for your 400 person ballroom... just the same as a 2000 watt speaker system is overkill for cocktail hour!
**Lighting** -- Does your entertainer have intelligently controlled lighting.... or is it just set to 'random'? For example, do the lights change tastefully and fluidly with the song, or will there be random strobe flashing while you're having your "First Dance" ?!What Sets Boston Common Band Apart?
Beyond our Band+DJ Combo and Sound/Lighting Systems, our focus is not just on playing music... It's all about being your host for the evening, managing the energy level effectively, making sure our sound levels are evenly set, our lighting is programmed with colors that capture the mood of the song, and ultimately ensuring that everyone is partying all night long. With our holistic approach to events, we offer and deliver amazing results for every single one of our Bride & Grooms!
Other Tips
Vendor Meal Timing
Many vendors will request meals as part of their contracts. So it's important to budget the RIGHT time for those meals to be served, in order to keep a continuous flow of the reception.
We often see catering staff serving their own meals, as well as all other vendor meals, at the END of the dinner service. Having completed their duties for the night, this makes perfect sense for the catering staff. However, it leaves all other vendors getting served their meals when you're already finished with your own and ready to get the party started.
Our best recommendation is to have the Photo / Video / Entertainers served at the mid-point of your dinner service. This allows your vendors who have work through the end of the reception, to eat at the same time as you -- and most importantly, to get the party started when you're ready!
Another way to look at the above is:
Would you rather be waiting for your vendors, or have them waiting on you to start the party? ;) -

**After booking the band, you'll receive a login to our innovative and intuitive Online Planning Website to map out the evening. Our DJ team is available and will assist you in the planning agenda and communicates back with your day-of-coordinator to ensure everything goes completely smooth.
**Are REAL Live DJs -- not just one of the band members clicking songs out of iTunes. Our DJ performs, spins and beat-matches, stringing together the latest dance hits and or special requests while the band takes our short break... This ensures the energy level stays "peaked" and people are dancing all night long!!
**Acts as the MC, guiding and navigating your reception, with the ability to handle any announcements that need to be made.
High End Sound & Intelligent Lighting
We provide a $25,000 touring-quality sound and LED lighting system that not only makes the band sound great, but will light up and really make your reception room "pop"... giving your guests the desired "Wow!" effect.
**The easiest way to think about this is if you go into Best Buy and listen to a boombox, and then listen to a high-end stereo... you can hear the clarity that much better through the hi-fi system. This has importance, as it allows us to manage our levels where we don't need to play loudly in order for all the parts to be heard.
**Most bands will bring in small and/or low-mid quality unprogrammed systems. There are also some bands that use similar systems to ours, though they are outsourcing to a separate Sound/Lighting Company, and are passing that cost along to you!
